Wednesdays are one of my favorite days of the week.  I wake up early and meet with a group of 10-15 high school guys who are up before school to grow closer to Christ.  I get to see my family in the afternoon and for dinner, and then I get to spend time with a group of young adults for community and spiritual growth. We had a great time just laughing together tonight.  Tomorrow morning, I get to speak at my high school’s FCA.

Here are a few Scriptures that encouraged and inspired me today that I am trying to put in my heart:

All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.”  I Peter 1:24/ Isaiah 40:6-8

“The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”  I John 1:17

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverance and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.”  Hebrews 12:28-29

“Therefore, since the promise of entering the rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.  For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.”  Hebrews 4:1-2

“As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says,’In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” II Corinthians 6:1-2

“For Christs love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”  II Corinthians 5:14-15
